The move comes after recent revisions to the Metronet Category 2 standard for fire-resistant compartmentation on the Underground network, which have allowed Promat to update its specifications to meet design requirements.
It means that the Promaseal range joins other Promat products – including Supalux, Durasteel, Vermiculux and Monolux – that have been installed on Underground stations over the last 25 years.
The Promat product range is a comprehensive, fully tested and independently certified range of products, allowing clients and specifiers alike to have peace of mind when using them in fire. The company’s products are fully certified by a third-party United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited body. In addition, products are manufactured in accordance with the CERTIFIRE approval scheme, which ensures they meet an agreed standard assessed by a UKAS independent body. Promat also recommends that its products are installed by a FIRAS approved contractor.
