ATEX guide updated

WOLF SAFETY has updated its ATEX Explained poster guide, ahead of the May 2006 deadline for implementation of the ATEX Workplace Directive 99/92/EC.

The new guide says that companies that invest in ATEX-compliant equipment now, can avoid potentially costly risk assessments of non-compliant equipment still in use at their sites.

The Directive stipulates minimum requirements for improving the health and safety of workers potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres.

It will mainly affect the European oil, gas, petrochemical, processing and transport industries.
