THE FIRE Summit is a new event for 2007 and takes place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on 14 November. The conference, organised by Fire Conferences and Exhibitions Limited, examines the economic, environmental and societal effects of fire, and will be of interest and relevance to all fire professionals. The high-level event will attract senior executives from all sectors and will provide an excellent opportunity to interact with opinion formers and debate key issues.

The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) International President Charles Chu is one of the session chairs. Jon Snow of Channel 4 News is the guest speaker. Further information and registration details are available from website: www.cfoa.org.uk/firesummit.

AGM, Conference and Exhibition

The IFE’s 85th Annual General Meeting (AGM), Conference and Exhibition will be held at the De Vere Herons’ Reach Hotel in Blackpool, Lancashire, on 2-3 July 2008. The AGM will be held on the morning of 2 July and will be followed by the one-and-a-half-day conference. The President’s Dinner will take place on the evening of 3 July.

International President Elect Paul Richardson is developing the conference programme and further information will be included in the November edition of FP&FEJ. The latest information on this and other IFE events will also be published in future editions of the IFE Events Focus e-newsletter. To sign-up for the newsletter, please contact Gail Savage on e-mail: gail.savage@ife.org.uk.

The event provides a distinct opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere with representatives from the fire and rescue service, as well as international fire industry professionals.
