FPA secures fire service training contract

THE Fire Protection Association (FPA) has secured a major three-year contract to provide technical training to fire and rescue services in the southeast region of England.

The contract with the South East Fire and Rescue Services Regional Management Board will see the FPA delivering training programmes and events across all southeast fire and rescue services.

The modular courses will help staff working in a range of fire safety roles to develop the requisite knowledge and under-pinning skills necessary to support the development of workplace competence, in line with the National Occupation Standards and National Vocational Qualifi-cations (NVQs) for fire safety.

As the partnership develops, there are plans to include opportunities for the achievement of full NVQs and other externally accredited courses in the training portfolio.

More information is available from the FPA on tel: +44 (0)1608 812 500; e-mail: training@thefpa.co.uk
