Scottish Fire College training contract

THE SCOTTISH Fire Services College at Gullane, East Lothian, has contracted out the training for fire safety officers of Scottish fire and rescue services to consultants, C S Todd & Associates Limited.

The contract was let after a competitive tender process on behalf of the Scottish Government, which runs the College. The training comprises three modules, each of three weeks, and is the basic training given to specialist fire safety officers across Scotland.

Head of programme delivery at the College, Garry Burnett, commented: ‘The partnership will enable the excellence in training to continue with enhancements that will ensure its relevance to the modern role of fire safety officers. The contract also includes a complete review of the current delivery model over the next 12 months, enabling input by all key stakeholders to the format and content of the training.’

C S Todd & Associates will also be responsible for the immediate revision and updating of two e-learning modules on the College website. These modules will also be completely rewritten by the consultants as part of the contract.
