A REMOTE controlled helicopter is being used by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to assist with command and control at large-scale incidents. Capable of flying to a height of 120m, the Carvec Kestrel aerial unit provides incident commanders with real-time overhead video/stills or thermal images of incidents, and helps them make decisions about deploying crew and resources as a situation develops.
