REPRESENTATIVES from the Institution of Fire Engineers and the Fire Protection Association were delighted to welcome James M Shannon, the president and chief executive officer of the US National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Sultan Javeri, NFPA’s director, to their offices at Moreton in Marsh. Discussions took place concerning fire-safe cigarettes, proposed collaboration on codes and standards, and enhancing international fire statistics through the Institution’s branch network.
