On the move . . .

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has appointed John Hindmarch as its new deputy chief fire officer. John will retain his remit for human resources and learning and development that he held as assistant chief fire officer of the service, and will also lead on the move to a new regional control centre.

Area manager Robert Anderson has been appointed as senior training and development officer of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The new Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has annunced the appointment of councillor Brian Coleman as chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority.
