Like you, we’re fired up about safety.
Tasked with maintaining the UK's nuclear deterrent, the Atomic Weapons Establishment is unlike any other organisation. As one of the nation's largest high-technology research and development facilities, our scientific and engineering expertise is second-to-none. And the same exacting standards apply to everything we do. Our commitment to safety has earned us the prestigious Gold Medal from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). For an experienced Fire Safety Engineer like you, it means the chance to develop your career alongside industry leaders while working on the sort of projects you won’t find anywhere else.
In this role, you’ll help to set the standard in fire safety through the design, development, audit and review of fire installations and procedures. As well as identifying training needs and investigating incidents, you’ll drive the review and development of policies and practices – making improvements and putting forward changes.
As a Chartered Fire Engineer with extensive management experience, you’ll combine technical expertise with the drive and multi-tasking ability needed to effectively lead our teams. Like you, safety is our first priority, which is why we’ll also expect you to have a relevant NEBOSH qualification and a firm grasp of current safety legislation.
As well as the opportunity to continually develop your abilities, you’ll enjoy a superb benefits package. One that includes 28 days’ holiday in addition to statutory bank holidays and a final salary pension scheme.
