The FPA’s Technical Directorate is currently searching for experienced and qualified professionals, who wish to continue to use their skills and expertise on a part-time basis, to help commerce and industry comply with fire safety legislation and develop fire protection strategies appropriate to specific working environments.

The new members of our team of consultants must have a thorough knowledge of building and fire safety legislation in Scotland and be able to work flexibly with minimum supervision. Applicants should also possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and be familiar with the production of documents using the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

Based at home, you will work on assigned projects according to your expertise. Occasional visits may be necessary to the FPA’s main offices at Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire, where the administration and quality management of the work is centralised.

The successful candidate will have access to the FPA’s extensive range of publications and guidance documents, and will have the opportunity to attend an annual training seminar, to enable them to keep up-to-date with legislation and technical developments.

Income earned would be in accordance with the type and number of jobs undertaken.
