Fire Safety Advisor Ref: 208-FSA-08-862
Band 6, £24,103 - £32,653 37.5 hrs/wk
Scunthorpe General Hospital
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust

Due to expansion of our Fire Safety roles we have a vacancy for a suitably experienced/qualified fire professional to undertake the role of Fire Safety Advisor. Although the post will be based at the Scunthorpe General Hospital, cross site working at Grimsby and Goole will be required.

You will monitor the standard of fire safety across the organisation and provide advice to management and project teams on the fire safety measures required in refurbishments and new projects. You will also complete and review fire risk assessments for all Trust properties. There will be a requirement to liaise with all levels of management and staff, local authority fire inspectors, building inspectors and architects. You will also be required to prepare and deliver mandatory fire safety training to all staff.

Substantial experience of working in a fire safety related field is required. Although evidence of a good general education is essential, a fire-related professional qualification, such as membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers, and a management qualification, together with previous experience in a healthcare environment, would be advantageous.
