The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Fire Safety Professional to be based in the Estates Department, who will be responsible for monitoring and advising upon the fire risk management arrangements of all departments.
You will provide specialist advice to the Trust, its officers, managers, staff and volunteers on all aspects of fire prevention and protection, be responsible for the standards related to fire prevention and assist managers in the development of local procedures relating to these policies and standards so that patients, the general public, staff and volunteers are protected.
You will be responsible for and supervise the fire training policy to ensure that managers, staff, volunteers and other external healthcare providers are conversant with the principles of fire prevention and are thoroughly familiar with the procedures to be carried out in the event of fire.
Experienced in detailed fire risk assessments in healthcare buildings, you must also be able to assist managers in completing local fire risk assessments to maintain high levels of fire safety.
You will have excellent communication and presentational and training skills, be computer literate and hold a nationally recognised qualification in fire safety/fire risk management together with a demonstrable detailed knowledge of fire safety management practices and current legislative requirements (including HTM Firecode standards).
