COUNCILLOR Leslie Byrom has been appointed as the new chair of the Business Community Safety Forum (BCSF) until October 2009. He replaces Pamela Castle, who recently retired after being in post since 2003. Mr Byrom commented: ‘I am grateful for the opportunity to work with our fire and rescue service, and help to ensure that the needs of the business sector, the community and the stakeholders are taken into account and given a strong voice.’ A former member of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority, Mr Byrom has served as chairman of both the Local Government Association’s Fire Services Management Committee and the Fire Forum.
