Cities in the Sky - Challenging their safety, do you want to play a part?
BRE Global International conference 2009
20-21 May 2009, Watford, UK
Around the globe, high-rise buildings and super high-rise buildings are appearing like never before. There are, however, concerns about their safety and security, the types of materials used, evacuation, and structural resistance to fire and extreme events. Engaging the whole built environment, the focus of this event will be on fire and safety, with discussions on how sustainable and secure tall buildings are.
To inform the debate and to help steer this conference, BRE Global is looking for papers and posters on the following subject areas: evacuation, fire safety engineering, structural response and safety, performance-based design, human behaviour, fire detection, fire protection, smoke ventilation, security, etc. The full proceedings from this event will be published. Have you been involved with high-rise buildings from either an academic or commercial perspective? If so, we want to hear from you.
