Radio therapy

AN EMS 5000 FirePoint radio analogue fire detection system with three network control panels and more than 200 devices has been installed as part of a recent refurbishment at the British Museum’s North London storage facility, without any disruption to operations.

As the two multi-storey buildings are separated by a road and loading area, the radio network interconnects each building’s fire systems. Installing this system avoided the time and cost of fire-rated cable and the building work to run it between buildings, which would have been required had a traditional wired system been chosen – wire-free sensors are typically installed in less than 10 minutes.
