Cooling the Tube is TfL’s multi-million pound investment to make Underground journeys more comfortable. Our various projects need lots of multi-disciplinary input, including specialist fire engineering.

We’re looking for a professional engineer to lead Fire Engineering Discipline. You’ll be responsible for making sure our various initiatives meet stringent fire regulations, and you’ll liaise with many stakeholders and agencies to provide co-ordination and effectiveness. It’s high-profile, important work, and millions of Londoners rely on you to ensure their journey is safe as well as comfortable.

You’ll need qualifications and strong experience of fire safety in a railway environment, including issues surrounding design and construction. You’ll also need an engineering background, and ideally, solid experience of team management and influencing.
