Seminar on smoke ventilation in residential buildings

A SHORT, free to attend, CPD seminar on smoke ventilation in residential buildings and hospital fire safety is taking place in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on 10 September.

The event is aimed at fire safety officers and seeks to enhance their knowledge of smoke ventilation systems in residential developments, fire safety risk assessment and audit of healthcare premises. Speakers will include representatives from Colt Ventilation Systems, the Department of Health, and the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers (NAHFO). Representatives from UK fire and rescue services and NAHFO members will be in attendance, and the seminar will be opened by IFE international president Paul Richardson.

There is little doubt of the need to not only learn new developments within the fire safety profession, but also to maintain and enhance understanding of existing knowledge to ensure an individual's approach is professional, appropriate, and also flexible to the Articles of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the needs of the client.

The seminar is being organised by Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service's fire safety department with the support of the IFE.
