Extinguishers found dumped by motorway

A LARGE collection of fire extinguishers were found by West Yorkshire Police on the M62 near the border of Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

BBC News reported on the flytipping of the extinguishers, which were spotted by West Yorkshire Police motorway patrol officers Martin Willis. He tweeted an image of the dumped extinguishers, ‘dozens’ of which were found on Windy Hill in the Pennines near the motorway and by a transmitter, while one commenter noted that the extinguishers ‘could be easily traced via information on the inspection labels’.

Neil Emmott, councillor and cabinet member for the environment at Rochdale Borough Council, commented: ‘We have received a report of a number of fire extinguishers being dumped on Windy Hill. We investigate all complaints of fly-tipping and won't hesitate to take action against those responsible.’
